A Tribute to Grandma Adegboye / Mummy Adegboye Some goodbyes never feel real. Just a few days before, we spoke. We laughed. We joked, just as we always did. I told you I would come and see you as soon as the children went on break. You prayed for us, encouraged us, and blessed us as only you could. Did you know? Was that your way of saying goodbye? My heart aches knowing that was our last conversation, yet I will treasure it forever because it was filled with love, the kind of love you gave so freely. To my children, you were Grandma Adegboye. To me, you were Mummy. You were so much more than family. You became one of the strongest women I have ever known, a living example of courage, resilience, grace, and unwavering faith. You endured life’s storms with quiet dignity and emerged with a heart that never stopped loving, praying, and giving. You always found a reason to say, “Thank you.” But today, I realize it is I who should be saying those words. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for welcoming me with love and making me feel like your own. Thank you for showing me what strength wrapped in gentleness looks like. Thank you for every smile, every laugh, every conversation, every word of encouragement, and every blessing you spoke over my family. I will carry them with me always. Though our hearts are broken, we do not grieve without hope. You loved the Lord with all your heart, and that gives us comfort beyond words. Heaven has welcomed one of its precious daughters home. What we have lost on earth, eternity has gained. Rest peacefully, Mummy. Rest in the everlasting embrace of the God you served. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Thank you for being part of my life. Thank you for being family. Until we meet again, may your gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
