A Tribute to a Wonderful Woman — Mummy Mercy Adegboye I met Mummy for the first time in early 2025, at a time when she could easily have allowed her pain to overshadow her joy. Yet, even in the midst of her struggles, she still found reasons to smile, laugh, and make others happy. I remember seeing her at the hospital, joking with Seun and Chinwe, and I was immediately drawn to her warmth and charisma. She had a beautiful way of spreading joy, even when she was going through difficult moments herself. As someone who naturally loves and appreciates older people, I quickly became fond of Mummy. Whenever we had the opportunity to talk, our conversations were never superficial. They were deep, meaningful, and always left me with something valuable to take away. My husband could also immediately tell that she was a trained nurse, and he was delighted to discover that she had trained at one of the prestigious hospitals where he also received his training. That connection made our conversations even more interesting. Mummy was simply wonderful to be around. She was warm, lively, kind-hearted, and full of life. She had a special way of making people feel comfortable and happy in her presence. Even in church, she brought her own unique joy. Her thoughtful contributions during Sunday School sessions and her beautiful songs during special programmes and events were always a blessing to us. Her presence brought warmth to our gatherings, and she will certainly be missed. Mummy, thank you for the beautiful life you lived and for the love, laughter, wisdom, and joy you shared with those around you. I wish we could have had you with us for much longer, but we are comforted by the knowledge that you lived a life that touched many hearts, and we believe that you are in a better place with the Lord!. Though your physical presence is no longer with us, the memories you created and the lives you touched will continue to speak for you. Rest peacefully, Mummy. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
